TSR commits to rescheduled IBC, pivots with preproduction on new album

LIAB artists The Sugar Roots have confirmed that they will be competing in the Blues Foundation’s rescheduled International Blues Challenge. The event has been moved from January to May due to rising covid infections in the Memphis area.

To adjust for the disruption of timing in their IBC focused marketing plan, The Sugar Roots have announced that preproduction has begun on the next album. “I’ve got whole albums worth of cool new joints, so we decided to start working them out.” said Chad Rupp, front man/multi instrumentalist for the band. According to bassist/producer/label owner Timmer Blakely ”We’d like to get the album in the can by late April and release a single or two as we head into the IBC’s in May. We’d also like to have a deep enough song pool to play different original sets for all four IBC performances.”

With their debut album “Savage’s Life” selling well, charting well, and getting great reviews, anticipation is high for the next TSR release. No release date has yet been officially announced.
